Baci di Dama, an Italian love story
Baci di Dama are tender biscuits whose recipe dates back to the 19th century, in Piedmont.
Among the legends on the origin of these sweets, the most romantic tells that it was King Vittorio Emanuele II who asked the chefs of the Savoy house for a new sweet to offer as a gift to a beautiful lady.
The result was a small biscuit with a very crumbly dough and an original shape: two lips intent on smacking a sweet kiss.
We don’t know if Vittorio Emanuele II managed to conquer that fascinating girl but it is certain that these little sweets have conquered the palates of many, so much so that, even today, they are a classic of Italian pastry making, the undisputed protagonist of what is known as tea and more…

The Baci di Dama we produce respect the traditional recipe.
We carefully select the raw materials to respect the quality and ancient and delicate taste of this soft dough, skillfully mixing the main ingredients: butter, sugar, “00” type soft wheat flour, hazelnuts, dark chocolate, vanillin flavouring.
