ORIGINS OF THE COMPANY

Casari Pugliesi Società Agricola S.r.l. is a company that represents a solid reality at national level in the dairy sector.
The company has several brands with which it produces and markets typical Apulian dairy products.

The reference brands are Cordisco and Marte, which I represent, on all the market of the GDO prestigious dairy products known nationally. Examples are the Caciocavallo Silano Dop, the Canestrato Foggiano, the Canestrato Pugliese Dop, the Pecorino d’bruzzese, the Crema del Tavoliere, the Bruzzese.

Casari Pugliesi continues the dairy tradition paying attention to the quality and care of raw materials used, the production of milk and cheese using cutting-edge techniques and innovative in the sector, Of course, without forgetting the origins from which these products derive.
The brands represented have the recognition of quality products in addition to some PDO (Caciocavallo Silano Dop and Canestrato Pugliese Dop).

The administration of the Company, initially entrusted to Mr. Antonio Papili, who has a long- standing experience in the dairy sector and has gained several experiences in positions of responsibility in prestigious companies and of national importance, was also expanded with the partner Michele Mele, who was assigned the management of the agricultural branch.

MISSION

Later he developed the production of private labels for several important customers national, including Selex, Newlat, Fiorucci, France Latticini, Sabelli, Val Or.

In the dairy scene our company, through its brands, is the largest producer of typical cheeses aged Apulia. The company has a long tradition of producing traditional cheeses.
Casari Pugliesi, to be considered nationally as a reference of the dairy and food specialties of Apulia, land rich in history and culture, has expanded its range of products by developing the production of private labels for different customers including Selex, Fiorucci, France Latticini, Sabelli, Val Or.

This commercial strategy led to the launch of an M&A process that led to the identification and subsequent acquisition of Marte Formaggi S.r.l., a well-known Apulian brand specialising in salted ricotta.

To present itself nationally, the company has “coined” the name “Casari Pugliesi” in order to unify the corporate brands in the portfolio, strengthening the territoriality of the products themselves. This name facilitates the commercial dairy proposal of Puglia, in fact, new product lines have also

been launched under the brand “Casari Pugliesi”.

ACQUISITION OF PARTICIPATION IN MARTE FORMAGGI Srl

In 2019, the Company acquired 45% of the shares in MARTE FORMAGGI S.r.l. This transaction has allowed and will allow Casari Pugliesi to implement a series of commercial and financial synergies, in particular:

– Acquire the availability of a well-known brand in the south that has had a significant advertising investment through the radio and television group Telenorba;
– increase the commercial portfolio with Marte branded products, reinforcing the Apulian territorial connotation of the range of products offered, a circumstance very appreciated by consumers in northern Italy (for example Cacioricotta and Ricotta dura);

– Develop the commercial presence of Mars branded products in the regions of northern Italy through its extensive commercial network;
– Increase the use of by-products (whey) for the production of Marte branded products
(hard ricotta) with a significant impact on the farm’s profitability.

The Casari Pugliesi has as its mission to disseminate and consolidate the dairy dairy culture in Italy, in fact the GD and DO, especially in sensitive regions such as Lombardy and Piedmont, They represent a very attractive pool of opportunities to be developed commercially.
From a strategic point of view, Casari Pugliesi aims to focus its activities on the modern and complex GDO with its products of excellence DOP; in fact, this commercial strategy allows the Company to focus on a sales channel that is absolutely the most profitable and with the highest growth rate.

The consumer’s confidence in local and regional products must always be cultivated and strengthened through investment projects aimed at both new technologies but maintaining the quality that has always characterized our productions.

a) New Dairy

In pursuit of the set growth objectives, it is necessary to consolidate the production area and cheese maturing by building a new dairy in a modern way, adopting innovative technologies according to the protocols of Industry 4.0, This will enable our company to:
– Optimize production processes;

– reduce working time;
– control the production phases with immediate alerts on production deviations; – Energy efficiency;
– improve the well-being of employees at work;
– to contain fixed costs.

b) Sheep Project:

The Casari Pugliesi, consistent with its mission, decides to return to the origins, that is to say, to the direct production of the basic raw material: sheep’s milk.
Already producers of most of the cheeses marketed, the focus is on the production of sheep’s milk,
as a certified farm, which will place us as the first and only integrated producers of the chain for the Canestrato Pugliese DOP.

The initiative involves the creation of a fixed-housing herd of high genetic value dairy sheep according to the “Milk all year round” format.
The prerequisite for feasibility is the need to integrate the upstream supply chain with self-production of about 70% of the milk needs for the production of Canestrato Pugliese DOP.

In addition to pursuing the development of the sector, the project of sheep breeding will primarily cover the shortage of raw materials (which does not allow us today to increase production and satisfy

the market), with the advantage of seasonal production of sheep cheese, and milk available all year round.

New products

Casari Pugliesi, it contains all the typical cheese productions of Apulia.
